1st Official Meeting! (Or the so-called AGM)

1st Meeting had been held at 3Ilmu on the 31st of March. As this meeting is not originally planned to be held, activities had been planned the very last minute (LITERALLY). Fortunately, due to smart brains of ours (LOL), we came up with an "Aishiteru" game. Introduction of BOD members had also been held. President Tay had also launch a competition of Logo & Club uniform designing. Members had also been told of our agendas for this whole year to know what to expect. After 45 minutes of blablabla-ing, members had been divided into 2 groups to play the "Aishiteru" game. I must say that although it was quite awkward on the beginning, a few punishments is all it takes to hyper up the members. Also, i will never forget the scene where Juliet acted as the maid. It was more than i could take! *ROFL* As a conclusion, i think it's a great 1st meeting and a better start for our one and only Japan Cultural Club! xD Everybody, give yourself a round of applause!

Conservation of the Enviroment

As many of you know, Japan was hit by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake then followed by a tsunami. We thought that the tragedy of Japan would end afterwards but I guess mother nature begged to differ. Because of the natural disasters that occurred, the nuclear power plants in Fukushima, Japan was damaged seriously. It has been told that the radiation leaks from the nuclear power plants are dangerous.

We, as the Japan Cultural Club, would be participating in the exhibition called "Program Bestari" organized by our school to teach people and give people a better understanding of the crisis that is going on in Japan. Mainly, the radiation leaks.

Date : 9th April 2011
Venue : SMK Seafield Library
Theme : Conservation of the Environment

From the exhibition, members of the Japan Cultural Club would be educating students of SMK Seafield about :
- factors causing the radiation leaks
- effects of radiation
- steps taken by the authorities to overcome it
- the current radiation levels.
- timeline of the radiation levels

We hope to educate the students and also spread the love of Japan throughout the student body.
